Better Together

Hi Friends! I have some ideas to share with you. God has been very real to me lately as I have spent additional time praying for wisdom in how I could best serve Him through this blog. I plan to keep posting stories from my journey and how grateful I am for all I’m learning about myself and about God.

I also want to begin providing resources for you to check out as you navigate the path of your own journey. That’s the purpose of this post. I want to share a couple of resources I’ve found that have been super encouraging to me lately.

First, I’m changing my tv habits a bit. I am trying more now to watch shows that are beneficial to my walk with Christ as much as I can, instead of whatever is on or whatever show I’m binging at the time. I believe that the things I watch have an effect on my spirit for the better or the worse.

Anyway, I found this awesome show! It’s called Better Together and I told my husband it’s a Christian version of “The Real” or “The View”. By that I mean that each episode has a group of Christian female leaders (some I knew, some I didn’t) who sit around and discuss a certain topic. Unlike mainstream women’s talk shows, everyone speaks with respect and kindness to one another. The goal is to build up the Body, not to tear it down. It’s hosted by Laurie Crouch from TBN and has amazing women participating; Christine Caine, Lisa Harper, Jenn Johnson, Hosanna Wong, Alex Seeley, Chrystal Evans Hurst, and so many more!

Seeley: I love the fact that it’s real conversation but it’s biblically based. So we’re not just giving opinions, we’re getting revelations through our experience.

It’s so encouraging and informative — they share life experiences as Christian women in this confusing world. If you’re like me, you have a desire for faith-based community and women who will provide biblical perspectives on today’s issues.

You can watch the show several ways. You can watch it on TBN Monday-Friday 12:30 CST or DVR it to watch when you have time. You can also watch it on demand at TBN.org after you subscribe to the channel. It’s free to watch. Better Together. Or…you can download the TBN app and watch it on your mobile device or iPad wherever you are.

One of the women who participate in the Better Together discussions is Hosanna Wong. I had not heard of this young woman before, but I really appreciate her perspective on the Bible as it pertains to the next generation. I love her enthusiasm as well as her gifting. She is a speaker, pastor, and her vehicle is Spoken Word. I wasn’t sure what that was so I looked her up on YouTube.

All I can say is “WOW”! She is amazing! Her riveting presentations of God’s truth are unforgettable and life changing. She speaks throughout the country and if she comes to your community, I strongly encourage you to see her in person. Even if you can’t, you can watch her speak on YouTube. I recommend you start with “I Have a New Name” and go from there. Crazy good!

I would love it if you would contact me about any resources you have found that would be uplifting for other Christian women. Podcasts, books, apps, shows. I’ll share the resources in a future post! Let’s encourage each other to live our best lives in Christ!

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”  Isaiah 30:21

Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.  Psalm 73:23

Undistracted

Satan loves to distract us with things, both trivial and life-altering, that will take our focus off of Jesus. The enemy is an expert at creating diversionary tactics to keep us from doing the things we can only do if we keep our eyes on our Savior.
