Trust the Unknown
Recently, my husband took me on an early anniversary trip. He wouldn’t tell me where we were going but he told me I’d like it.

I’m not who I used to be. Although I accepted Christ at a young age and had times of being close to God, most of the time I just wanted to live my own life.
If we fill our minds with what’s wrong with our world or what’s hard in our lives, our faith can be weakened and we can lose hope.
So this week, I want to send you some encouragement straight from God’s heart.
I can look back and see that I’ve opened my mouth on many occasions to “help” and it backfired big time. Learning to examine my heart before speaking is a lesson God continues to work on with me.
I am deeply troubled as many of you are about the current state of conflict in the world around us. We are overwhelmed with the tragic and unnecessary loss of life, and concerned that things are getting worse over there, as well as here at home. It’s heartbreaking and makes us feel helpless. What can we do?
When we accepted Christ, we became a new person. We are no longer slaves to sin. However, as fleshly beings we still seek satisfaction in worldly things.
Recently, my son asked me to write a letter to him with my best life advice. An edited version is posted below.
We may never understand why we experience loss in this life. One thing we can know for certain, God will take anything that happens to us and cause it to work out for good. Romans 8:28 ESV
