He Sees Me
Do you ever find yourself surrounded by negative thoughts? Do you feel defeated, as though your hard circumstances will never change and God doesn’t even care at all?
Do you ever find yourself surrounded by negative thoughts? Do you feel defeated, as though your hard circumstances will never change and God doesn’t even care at all?
Recently my “quiet times” in the morning have felt a little unsatisfying. Sometimes I pray through my requests, read a Psalm or a devotional, sit still and invite God to be with me for…maybe 30 seconds…then I check that box and move on with my day.
I’m not who I used to be. Although I accepted Christ at a young age and had times of being close to God, most of the time I just wanted to live my own life.
Lent begins next Wednesday and is a season of preparation and reflection that is celebrated by many Christian faiths. It is a 40-day period (not including Sundays) leading up to Easter for us to reflect on Christ and His ultimate sacrifice on our behalf.
When we accepted Christ, we became a new person. We are no longer slaves to sin. However, as fleshly beings we still seek satisfaction in worldly things.
When we become a follower of Christ, our heart undergoes a transformation. Our desires and motivations begin to change. We start wanting to learn how to “walk” in this new life.
How can we learn to wait patiently when we’ve asked God in prayer for something but haven’t heard an answer?
God is not limited. He can do the impossible. I’m so grateful for God’s promises in his Word. I can go to these promises and read them again, knowing that the One who has promised will be faithful to fulfill his word.
